HOBO Weather Station Logger (Make-Onset U.S.A)
Measure temperature,
relative humidity, dew point, rainfall, photosynthetically active radiation
(PAR), wind speed, and barometric pressure with this customizable weather
station. Simply plug in your choice of selected smart sensors (each sold
separately) and begin logging. Reconfiguration of sensors is fast and easy.
Plug or unplug the selected sensors to alter which parameters will be measured.
No calibration or complex wiring is required. The system can accommodate up to
15 sensor inputs and any combination of sensors. Start logging at the push of a
button, or set a specific time to begin logging. Seven LEDs provide logging and
network status, as well as low-battery and low-memory warnings. The
non-volatile EEPROM memory retains data even in the event of battery failure.
Collect data using BoxCar® Pro or HOBOware™ Pro software (sold
separately). The logger features a weatherproof housing and a hinged door
secured by four screws.
Note: All sensor cable lengths combined cannot exceed 100 meters.
*Note: Software is non-returnable if the seal is broken or opened.
Operating range: -40°C to 70°C. Memory:
512K data storage. Number of data channels: maximum of 15. Number of
connectors supported: 10, expandable to 15 with optional 2-to-1 smart
sensor adapter (sold separately). Logging interval: 1 second to 9 hours,
user-specified interval. Time accuracy: 0 to 2 seconds for the first
data point and ±3 seconds per week at 25°C. Communication: RS-232 via
internal or weatherproof external connector. Offload speed: 2-1/2
minutes for full 512K offload. Mounting: mast or wall mount. Power:
4 AA alkaline batteries (for operating conditions -20°C to 50°C); optional AA lithium
batteries available (for operating conditions of -40°C to 70°C). Battery life:
one year. Dimensions: 7"W x 9"H x 4"D.
Micro Station Data
Logger
A smaller, more economical version of the Weather Station Logger. Designed to
fit into tight spaces, it is ideal for applications requiring mult-channel
monitoring of microclimates in one or more locations. The Micro Station can be
configured with up to four plug-in smart sensors (sold separately) for
research-grade measurements. Operates up to one year on four ˝AA˝ batteries. Specifications:
Same as the Weather Station Logger. Number of Data Channels: 4 smart
sensor inputs (maximum 15 parameters).
Rain Gauge The rain gauge is a
tipping bucket with a stainless steel shaft with brass bearings and an aluminum
housing and collector.Measurement range: 0 to 5" per hour, maximum
4,000 tips per interval. Calibration accuracy: ±1.0% at up to 20mm/hour
or up to 1"/hour. Resolution: 0.254mm or 0.01". Drift:
requires annual field calibration. Cable length: 2m. Dimensions:
9"H x 6" dia.
PAR Sensor The PAR sensor features
anodized aluminum housing with acrylic diffuse and o-ring seal. A light sensor
bracket (sold separately) is recommended for use with the PAR sensor. Parameters:
average over logging interval, user-defined sampling interval from 1 second. Measurement
range: 0 to 2,500 umol/m2/sec, wavelengths 400 to 700 nm. Accuracy:
±5 umol/m2/sec or ±5%, whichever is greater in sunlight. Additional
temperature induced error ±0.75 umol/m2/sec/degree C from 25°C.
Cosine corrected 0 to 80 degrees; Azimuth error < 2% error at 45 degrees,
360 degree rotation. Resolution: 2.5 umol/m2/sec. Drift:
<±2% per year. Cable length: 3m. Dimensions: 1-5/8"H x
1-1/4" dia.
Wind Speed and Direction
Sensor
The wind speed sensor consists of a 3 cup lexan anemometer with teflon bearings
and hardened beryllium shaft. Cross arm is required for the wind speed sensor. Parameters:
average wind speed, highest 3 second wind gust, average wind direction (unit
vector average). Measurement Range: Wind Speed/Gust - 0-44m/s (0-99mph);
Wind Direction - 0-358°. 2° dead band. Accuracy: Wind Speed/Gust - ±0.5
m/s (±1.1mph), ±3% 17-30 m/s (±1.1mph), ±4% 30-47 m/s (67-105mph); Wind
Direction - 5°. Resolution: Wind Speed/Gust - 0.19 m/s (0.42mph); Wind
Direction - 1.4°. Distance Constant: Wind Speed/Gust - approx. 3m (9.8'); Wind
Direction - 0.8m (2.6'). Cable Length: 3m (9.8'). Operating
Temperature Range: -40°F to 167°F (-40°C to 75°C).
Barometric Pressure
Sensor The
barometric pressure sensor must be used inside the logger enclosure for
protection from direct exposure to the weather. Parameters: average over
logging interval, user-defined sampling interval from 1 second. Measurement
range: 600 mb to 1,069.4 mb. Accuracy: ±1.5 mbar over full pressure
range at 25°C; additional temperature-induced error of ±2.5 mbar over -10°C to
60°C. Resolution: 0.1 mbar. Drift: typical ±0.6 mb per year,
maximum < 2.5 mb per 6 months. Cable length: 10 cm. Dimensions:
1-3/4" x 1-7/8" x 5/8".
